I recently cleaned my makeup brushes and decided to post how I do it. I use warm water and this product that I found at Shoppers Drug Mart! The Quo brush cleaner really gets the deep down makeup out. I recently found this rubber cleaning mat at Winners and picked it up and boy I'm glad I did. I works so much better then just using my hands and rubbing it out! All these brushes, I cleaned in less than a half an hour. I do try to make sure that I don't get too much water in the shaft, as to not compromise the integrity of the glue! You can purchase it for $12.00 at Shoppers. They also now carry a Rosewater One too!
I spray the bristles of the brush with two pumps of the Quo cleaner and gently work it in with my fingers, then I add a bit of warm water, and work it in. I then rub the brush against the cleaning mat. My brush cleaning mat was a gift last Christmas, but you can find a great deal Cleansing Silicone Mat at Sephora for $18.00 here.
You gently rub against the mat until the mat becomes clear and the water becomes clear, then you know that you have cleaned out all the left over makeup in the brush. Again gently squeeze out the excess water and shake the brushes to get all the last bit of water out before laying them to dry.
I do this with every brush and it lay them on a dry face cloth. I then clean the mat off with soap and water to make sure there is no bacteria left on it and it's ready for next time.
I leave them to dry for around 24 hours before using them. Keeping your brushes clean helps to ensure the life span of good brushes and also keeps you from using brushes that have bacteria from unused product on them, thus keeping your skin clean and clear of acne and breakouts, and clogged pores!
You invest a lot of money in good brushes, please take care of them! How often do you clean your makeup brushes? Which cleaner do you use for cleaning your brushes?
*Brushes shown in picture are Crown Brushes, MAC Brushes and Sigma Brushes and are all my own.

The new network marketing product hot on the market, is a makeup brand called Younique. The thought of a makeup line intrigued me, I guess it was the memories of Aloette from my childhood, but I had to get my hands on some of that stuff! And it wasn't hard to find, I had plenty of friends selling it!
"What makes this Makeup product better than the others?" I asked! And here is some of the responses that I was given:
First things first... the price point! I would have to say that Younique is very much in line with any high end makeup or cosmetic that you purchase from anywhere else. So if your looking for drug store pricing, your in the wrong place. I don't mind paying those prices if I know the products are good, so with all of the positives I was hearing, I was excited.
My first purchase was the Moonstruck Epic Mascara in black. And let me say, it rocks!! I really love it! The applicator is fantastic, and you can layer the coats on to lengthen and make your lashes look fabulous!
Before pictures of my lashes, Now after pics......
Next I purchased the Lucrative Moonstruck Minerals Lip Glosses! I honestly don't remember what the names of these three where, because as soon as I put them on my lips, I couldn't take the scent and taste. It has the same consistency and scent of Vaseline, so I only wore them for a total of 1 minute each before taking them off and passing them on to my friends I am just NOT a fan of Vaseline on my lips! I scent just really gets to me! I just can't!! But here are the shades to show you anyhow, because Vaseline of your lips may not bother you!
I can not let you know about the wear factor of these either. Like I said, I had to get them off ASAP! So be warned if you are the same as me for Vaseline! The mirror was a nice touch, although you couldn't quite see in it, they did put some thought into it! My advise on these... skip it! The Price of one of these tubes is $18.00 CAD.
I purchased the Mineral Touch Liquid foundation, and I LOVED IT! I am in the shade Organza and it works with my skin tone flawlessly! I use this almost every day! And, also a little goes a long way! I mostly put it on with a brush, however, I have been know to use it with a beauty blender and it works fine with that too. I had heard someone say that it covers up so much even tattoos, so I thought I'd give it a try, and as you can see, it didn't, but I still like it anyways! It really doesn't feel very "cake-y" on my face and that is something that I have to have! I hate heavy foundation. Plus, this offers a really nice scent too! There is 19 different shades to choice from, and the price point for this 20 ML is $47.00.
I purchased one of the Splash Liquid Lipsticks from my friend when she did a live on Facebook. I chose the shade Stellar. I wore all day and didn't feel very drying on my lips! I love it! I wear it all the time! Definitely, you should add this to your "want list". With 19 different shades, you are bound to find a shade that suits you! This beauty was $32.00 each.
Along with Makeup, they also sell tools and brushes, and yes ladies, I also purchased some of these to try! I bought the tweezers, and the double ended brushes with the sponge applicators. What can I say about the tweezers? Not much, they are pink, and they work, THE END! $11.50 for the tweezers! Now the double ended brushes with the sponge applicatiors. These are genius!! I don't know why any other brush company hasn't came up with this idea yet, cause they are the bomb! I actually loved the first one so much, I purchased another! ;) These brushes came in at $18.00 each.
Lastly, I purchased some brow products! The brow pencil in Medium, and the Moonstruck Brow Obsession Palette in Brunette. I like them both. Obviously, they both give a different effect, but I'm just a learner with the new "brow thing" and I'm still not very good at it, (which I need to be as some of these puppies are coming in gray!!). After I master the art of brow perfection, I will let you know which one I use more often or prefer! I love that the pencil has a spoolie! That is always one of the things I look for in a brow pencil. These pencils are $23.00 each and come in 3 different shades for your colour type. The Moonstuck Palette is awesome as well! This little item of awesomeness comes with two shades of brow powder, a matte highlight, a shimmer highlight and brow wax to keep your masterpieces in place! Genius! These come in 3 different colour shades and come in at $47.00 each.
All in all, I must say that my experience with these products has been positive! Besides the "vaseline" scent of the glosses, I really do like these Younique products. As I am writing this, I am also referring to their website for accurate pricing, I am noticing so many more products that I haven't spoken about as well as a perfume line and a new skin care line as well! For now I have too much makeup to go through, to be purchasing any more, but I will have to keep these in mind for the next time I find myself looking for a new makeup product.
Have you tried any Younique products yet? I'm interested in what your thoughts are!
* If you are interested in any products and need a sales representative's information, I can hook you up with one!

Welcome to another flashback Friday!! Today I have a couple Clinique goodies for you! These are samples that I have gotten somewhere along the way, but you can purchase these as full size product at any Clinique store or online at Clinique.ca. Although these are samples, I used the heck out of them.
The first is a eye shadow duo along with a blusher.
The "Like Mink" eyeshadow duo is great for an everyday eye look. It's a light beige lid colour with a dark brown crease shade. The product is crease and fade resistant. Ophthalmologist tested for even the most sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. They retail at $28.00 online. The blush is "Mocha Pink" soft pressed Powder Blusher and it is just the right shade for some colour, but yet not too much. It's a warm, natural-looking powder blush for all skins. Sheer, buildable colour gives cheeks a radiant glow. Silky, fresh finish, too. It Retails at $29.00!
Next up is the Stay The Day Eye Shadow. These are discontinued, however don't fret! I found two dups for these.
The first one is the "Gilded Nude" shade. The single pressed powder shadows are now called All About Shadow... and the colour choice closest is "Sunset Glow". As you can clearly see in the pictures, I also have used the heck out of these, so I am hoping to purchase the new shadows to see how they compare. These are said to be long wearing powder as well as Crease and fade resistant, too. Ophthalmologist tested for even the most sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
The other shade I have is "MoonGlow", and the dup I found is called "Bubble Bath". This faint pink is a great lid shade or an all over lid shade is you are going for a "no makeup" makeup look, to give you a slight hint of colour. The retail at $21.00 on Clinique.ca.
I hope you will try out Clinique's All About Shadow's when looking for a new product to purchase. I know I will be purchasing one when I hit pan on these babies!

Well hopefully winter is seeing it's way out (fingers crossed), and I have complied a collection of beauty products that were a must for winter time survival.
Firstly, taking extra special care of your face is a MUST. It will dry out and become aggravated, and you will be spending lots of time and money on repairing the damage. I used a great couple of products in my daily routine..
A great multi peptide serum is a good investment to start. Peptides are fundamental components of cells that carry out important biological functions. I used this underneath a Hydrating moisturizer.
I used a couple of hydrating moisturizers. I choose the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De-Tox Bouncy Hydrating Gel and the Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel. I chose to show a high end and a more affordable brand, but either chose, a moisture surge skin care gel or cream is a good idea for those dry months. The Peter Thomas Roth can be purchased at Sephora where as the Garnier Moisture Rescue can be purchased from Wal-Mart.
Don't forget your lips! They are a taking a beating too..... Here is a exfoliant and repair cream that I found that works wonderful. The Arbonne dual came out in the Holiday 2016 Collection and let me tell you, it is soo fine!
I used it every other day, and used a different dual in between. To purchase the set, you will have to find an Arbonne representative near you, and see if this product or something similar is available! For those in between days, I used the EOS lip balm and then added a layer of Vaseline over top of it to lock in all the moisture benefits.
I found that with using these two products in conjunction with each other at bed time, it really helped my lips from chapping. Usually during the winter months, my lips take a beating, but since using this two step system, it really helped.
Another part of your body that gets overlooked in the winter months, but shouldn't is your hair. A good professional hair mask is essential to combat the dryness of the cold weather. One in particular that I have been using is the BaByliss Argan Oil Restorative mask. I purchased this from my local Cosmo prof, but you can find it at any Sally's Beauty. A once a week treatment can make all the difference in the world.
And my last, but certainly not least body part that gets totally overlooked, is your feet. Do you find your heals and bottoms of your feet starting to crack? Just like every other epidermal tissue on your body, your feet get dry as well. Your feet are squished into those poorly air circulating boots with heavy socks being worn all the time, trying to combat the cold dry outside and heated inside air, and you don't think they take a shit kicking? Properly cleaning and moisturizing and exfoliating your feet will help keep them looking flip flop ready!! I found this product to work great, but any foot cream will do the same thing.
This product was sent to me, and as stated, is designed for cracked skin. Depending on the severalty of your feet's dryness, you may want to get a more dense cream. Firstly, scrub the dead skin off of your feet, then apply the cream and wear a pair of socks over for the night really helps whip those feet into great looking and feeling feet.
Hopefully these five products, with alternates shown, will help you cure the winter drys!! What products are you using to help you survive the winter months??
Until next time
I was looking for a lipstick the other day, when I noticed that I have started quite the collection of M.A.C. Lipsticks. I decided to show case some of my favourites for you. M.A.C. Lipstick is the iconic product that made M.A.C. famous. M.A.C. makeup, in general, is lusted over with celebrities and makeup artists and has a large cult following. M·A·C is the world’s leading professional makeup authority because of our unrivalled expertise in makeup ARTISTRY.
There are several different types of M.A.C. Lipsticks ranging from Matte, Retro Matte, Lustre, Satin, Amplified, Frost, Creme sheen and Glaze. I have a mostly lustre, but some satin, frost and creme sheen as well.
Amplified is considered as An ultra-creamy Lipstick formula with a smooth glide, bold colour payoff, full coverage and a semi-lustrous finish.
Creme Sheen is considered as a creamy, balmy Lipstick formula with a comforting feel, medium buildable coverage and a semi-glossy finish.
Lustre is considered A lightweight Lipstick formula with easy glide, sheer-to-medium buildable coverage and a lustrous finish.
Satin is considered A creamy Lipstick formula with a soft cushiony feel, medium-to-full buildable coverage and a satin finish.
Frost is considered A Lipstick formula with smooth, medium buildable coverage, high pearl and a semi-lustrous finish.
Giddy is a lustre and is described as a Lightheaded Pink Shimmered With Gold.
Creme Cup is a creme sheen and is described as Light blue pink
Snob is a Satin and is described as a Light neutral pink
Blankety is an amplified and is described as a Soft pink beige
Viva Glam V is a lustre and is described as Neutral pink with pearl. It is one of the lip sticks that M.A.C sells with celebrity endorsements, and every cent of the selling price of VIVA GLAM is donated to the M·A·C AIDS Fund.
Angel is a frost and is described as a soft pink.
High Tea is a lustre is a beige pink with pearl. Unfortunately High Tea is no longer available, however I love it and if you hunt around, you might be able to purchase it.
Lip Blossom is described as a pink with a gold, frosted shimmer. Again, this particular shade is no longer available, but with some searching you might be able to come across it.
All of these beauties are 3 grams, and retail at $22.00 off the M.A.C. website. They have this delightful scent to them that makes wearing them a treat.
Do you own any M.A.C. lip sticks? What are your favs, or which one(s) are you lusting over....

As some of you may know, or you may have noticed pictures on my social media, I LOVE a good face mask! I wear them at night in my wind down routine, I wear them during the day, if I'm off work, and just reading a good book or blog, and I have been know to wear them while cleaning my home. I love all different kinds of face masks from Hydrating to Exfoliating. Here are just some of my masks that I use in my skin care routine. You will notice out of all my masks, there is only 1 peel off mask. I'm not a big fan of the peel off mask. It pulls at my facial hair and I'm a big wimp. With the peel-off mask, I tend to wash it off instead of ripping my peach fuzz out!!
The Freeman Anti-Stress mask is one of my favourites. It is made of Dead Sea Minerals and is used to Purifies and Clears pores. The smell is a very fresh clay smell, but not too over whelming. It's claim is to calm your face while absorbing excess oil.
Dead Sea Minerals contain natural supplements that are essential for maintaining healthy skin. Sea Salts help replenish and balance moisture and the scent of Lavender and Bergamot promote relaxing aromatherapy.
St. Ives is a brand that is most common with great skin care. This Timeless Skin Mineral Clay mask is for firming of the skin.
This mask, with Kaolin Clay deep cleans while visibly firming and tightening the skin. It is Non-Comedogenic meaning it doesn't clog your pores and is not tested on animals.
You can see by the top of both of my hands that the right hand is visibly tighter and smoother.
The Garnier Skin Renew treatment mask is a 10 minute tissue mask. I had never tried one of these before, but I love them now. It states it is an intensive treatment that revitalizes and gives you more luminous skin.
It claims to deeply hydrate for 24 Hours and boosts radiance as well as reducing dark spots.
This left a lot of excess serum on my face afterwards. I loved the way my skin felt afterwards. I was gifted these next few masks to try out and I must say they are the bomb!
These are the MaskerAide facial sheet masks. I was given I don't wanna grow up mask that firms and softens fine lines, the All Nighter, that awakens, replenishes and refreshes, and the Detox Diva, that cleanses, exfoliates and detoxifies. I LOVED all of them. My face felt great and looked pretty darn good too. I will definitely will be purchasing more of these with my own money. They are well worth the price. You can purchase them at Well.ca well.ca/brand/maskeraide.html or at Nail Polish Canada www.nailpolishcanada.com/search.php?search_query=maskeraide
As I explained earlier, I do not like peel-off masks. I purchased this Boscia Black Luminizing Mask after I read it wrong. Instead of returning it, I just wash it off after it dries. The Boscia black mask helps boost skin clarity and helps minimize the appearance of pores.
The peel-off mask claims to remove dirt and impurities, and absorb excess oil to reveal a healthy, glowing complexion. I personally did not like this mask. Not that it had anything to do with it being a peel-off mask, but that it really irritated my skin. It left my skin feeling very dry and always red. I tried this mask a few times, with always the same results. It can be purchased at Sephora Canada if you are interested in trying it out for yourself. As you may very well know, each person's skin is different, and just because it didn't mesh well with my skin, doesn't necessarily mean it won't be perfect for yours!
I recently purchased my very first product from BeautyCounter. The #3 balancing and charcoal facial mask was in a holiday gift set with the charcoal facial soap. If you haven't heard of BeautyCounter yet, you should. This direct marketing company claims to use only the best ingredients, and none of the harmful ones. Perfect for all skin types and those concerned with congestion and oily skin.
This Kaolin clay mask purifies and balances, absorbing excess oil and drawing out impurities. Activated charcoal minimizes the appearance of pores, giving skin a smooth, refined appearance while salicylic acid stimulates exfoliation.
After all this information regarding masks, there is yet another one that I also use. I know, I know....when is this gonna stop..... WELL... we can't forget the eyes!!!
The Collagen Under Eye Lift Masks by Satin Smooth are made of Milk and Honey Collagen. They are said to moisturize and hydrate and help diminish the appearance of fine lines. Now I don't know about you, but hell ya, I try anything to look younger! Whether they do indeed work or not, they feel fantastic! Great for a "ME DAY". These can be purchased at any aesthetician's that use this brand.
Do you enjoy a great mask? What are your favourites? What ones did you not like?
Until next time
This is something new I'm trying on my blog. It's doing 2 eye looks with 1 eye shadow palette. I'm starting with the first palette that I had laying out. The Coastal Scents quad that I recently talked about was it. If you haven't read that post it is here flashback-friday.html With the gold tones and the green and purple, I was surely to get 2 looks out of it. Here are my results.
This first look is very bold, using the gold and rust colour. The rust shade is in my crease and gold on my lid. This is taken in the bathroom with the fluorescent light, as well as natural light. I chose to wear a liquid black eyeliner on my lid and in my water line as well. Giving my eyes a deep bold look.
Here is look #2
So obviously, this look is only my eyes that are made up. I am not wearing any foundation. In this look number 2, I have the rust all over my lid and the green in the crease. I chose to go with very little eyeliner. I just used a black eye shadow as my liner on my top lid and nothing on the bottom.
These are the two looks I created with the one quad. Stay tuned for more looks coming up on different palettes from my collection.
Until next time
Today I am going to do another flashback friday on a wonderful palette from Josie Maran. The "Eye Love You" palette consists of some light and dark shades with just a hint of glitter. Not too much to overtake the colours, but just enough to see the glitter on your eyes.
The pictures aren't showing the shades as dark as they really are. In fact, I took more pictures to see if the colours will show up better.
Starting at top left and going across then onto the bottom right across to the left, the shades are as follows: radiance, crown, cinnamon, cabernet, cloak, royal, adorn and feather.
The shadows are very buttery, but have a great deal of fallout, as you can clearly see in the photos. I love using this palette as the colour payoff is great.
Here are the swatches in fluorescent light..
This palette was purchase a couple years ago, but you can still find it available some times. I highly recommend to pick it up, if you ever wander across it.
Until Next time
I'm doing another Flash Back Friday!! Today I'm choosing some much loved Coastal Scents eye shadows. These are all single Hot Pots that I purchased, and made a quad from them. The Hot Pots retail on Coastal Scents Website for $1.95 and the empty palette retail for $3.95. I had never purchased or used and Coastal Scents product, so I was very excited to try some out. I ended up picking the shades 18 Karat Gold, Amethyst, Gypsy Gold and Caramelized.
To my surprise they are very pigmented. Now you have to be very light handed with these as there is a bit of fall out, but other than that, basically a great low priced, good quality eye shadow. I would advise to use a eye shadow primer to keep the wear looking fresh, but I highly recommend checking out their website and trying out some colours.
These three swatches were taken in different lighting, but as you can clearly see, the payoff is great! All in all a great product at a great price point!!
Have you tried any Coastal Scents? What were your thoughts? What products did you purchase?
Until next time
Welcome to the second edition of Flashback Friday! Again it's where I go through my makeup stash and pick one item to showcase and let it have it's day to shine! Today we are going to talk about the Nars Danmari All About Cheek Palette. I guess you can say I was one of the "lucky ones" to have gotten my hands on this palette. This was a limited edition, holiday palette that sold out in a flash. It consists of 1 highlighter, 1 bronzer, and 4 blushes. The Brand Nars was created by François Nars, a hugely successful runway makeup artist, and influential image maker.
The Only reason I'm blogging about a Limited Edition Palette, is because all of these lovelies can be purchased as singles, but they put them together for this fabulous palette for the holidays a few years back. The highlighter is the one of the highlighters from the Hungry Heart Duo, or Highlight (1), the bronzer is Casino. The 4 blush colours are: Orgasm, Super Orgasm, Desire and Sin. I absolutely love these colours. Now blushes are my thing! And I have been know to use a heavy hand while applying it.... and DAMN I like it that way.
So this above picture shows the highlight (right) and the bronzer (left). Again top right is one of the two highlights from the Hungry Heart Duo and top left is the Casino. The highlight is described as an Iridescent gold ivory, and the bronzer as dark brown with golden shimmer.
These above two are the all favourite Orgasm blushes. Right is the original Orgasm, and Left is Super Orgasm. The difference between the two is the larger glitter in the Super Orgasm, then in the regular. Orgasm is described as peachy pink with shimmer and Super Orgasm as peachy pink with gold glitter.
Right is Desire and Left is Sin. These are my absolute favourites. Such beautiful shades. Desire is described as cotton candy pink and Sin as berry with gold shimmer. Perfecto!!!!
Above are swatches taken in different lighting, natural and fluorescent. The individual blushes are available at Sephora for $38.00, the Casino bronzer for $52.00 and unfortunately I was unable to find the Hungry Heart Duo Highlight for sale on Sephora Website, but I'm sure an internet search would provide you with other options.
I'm hoping your able to see how beautiful these powders are. They are high end products, with higher prices, but well worth the money!!
Until Next Time
Hi! And welcome to my blog! I'm just a every day kinda gal, who loves to post all about my life! Beauty, Fashion, and Nails are things that I have always had a passion for, added with little bits of my life, and you have my blog!
