“To all the girls that think you’re fat because you’re not a size zero, you’re the beautiful one, its society who’s ugly.” ~~ Marilyn Monroe

Let's Talk About Masks

As some of you may know, or you may have noticed pictures on my social media, I LOVE a good face mask! I wear them at night in my wind down routine, I wear them during the day, if I'm off work, and just reading a good book or blog, and I have been know to wear them while cleaning my home. I love all different kinds of face masks from Hydrating to Exfoliating. Here are just some of my masks that I use in my skin care routine. You will notice out of all my masks, there is only 1 peel off mask. I'm not a big fan of the peel off mask. It pulls at my facial hair and I'm a big wimp. With the peel-off mask, I tend to wash it off instead of ripping my peach fuzz out!!

The Freeman  Anti-Stress mask is one of my favourites. It is made of Dead Sea Minerals and is used to Purifies and Clears pores. The smell is a very fresh clay smell, but not too over whelming. It's claim is to calm your face while absorbing excess oil.

Dead Sea Minerals contain natural supplements that are essential for maintaining healthy skin. Sea Salts help replenish and balance moisture and the scent of Lavender and Bergamot promote relaxing aromatherapy.
St. Ives is a brand that is most common with great skin care. This Timeless Skin Mineral Clay mask is for firming of the skin.

This mask, with Kaolin Clay deep cleans while visibly firming and tightening the skin. It is Non-Comedogenic meaning it doesn't clog your pores and is not tested on animals.

You can see by the top of both of my hands that the right hand is visibly tighter and smoother.

The Garnier Skin Renew treatment mask is a 10 minute tissue mask. I had never tried one of these before, but I love them now. It states it is an intensive treatment that revitalizes and gives you more luminous skin.

It claims to deeply hydrate for 24 Hours and boosts radiance as well as reducing dark spots.

This left a lot of excess serum on my face afterwards. I loved the way my skin felt afterwards.  I was gifted these next few masks to try out and I must say they are the bomb!
These are the MaskerAide facial sheet masks. I was given I don't wanna grow up mask that firms and softens fine lines, the All Nighter, that awakens, replenishes and refreshes, and the Detox Diva, that cleanses, exfoliates and detoxifies. I LOVED all of them. My face felt great and looked pretty darn good too. I will definitely will be purchasing more of these with my own money. They are well worth the price.  You can purchase them at Well.ca well.ca/brand/maskeraide.html or at Nail Polish Canada www.nailpolishcanada.com/search.php?search_query=maskeraide

As I explained earlier, I do not like peel-off masks. I purchased this Boscia Black Luminizing Mask after I read it wrong. Instead of returning it, I just wash it off after it dries. The Boscia black mask helps boost skin clarity and helps minimize the appearance of pores.

The peel-off mask claims to remove dirt and impurities, and absorb excess oil to reveal a healthy, glowing complexion. I personally did not like this mask. Not that it had anything to do with it being a peel-off mask, but that it really irritated my skin. It left my skin feeling very dry and always red. I tried this mask a few times, with always the same results. It can be purchased at Sephora Canada if you are interested in trying it out for yourself. As you may very well know, each person's skin is different, and just because it didn't mesh well with my skin, doesn't necessarily mean it won't be perfect for yours!

I recently purchased my very first product from BeautyCounter. The #3 balancing and charcoal facial mask was in a holiday gift set with the charcoal facial soap. If you haven't heard of BeautyCounter yet, you should. This direct marketing company claims to use only the best ingredients, and none of the harmful ones. Perfect for all skin types and those concerned with congestion and oily skin.

This Kaolin clay mask purifies and balances, absorbing excess oil and drawing out impurities. Activated charcoal minimizes the appearance of pores, giving skin a smooth, refined appearance while salicylic acid stimulates exfoliation.

After all this information regarding masks, there is yet another one that I also use. I know, I know....when is this gonna stop..... WELL... we can't forget the eyes!!!

The Collagen Under Eye Lift Masks by Satin Smooth are made of Milk and Honey Collagen. They are said to moisturize and hydrate and help diminish the appearance of fine lines. Now I don't know about you, but hell ya, I try anything to look younger! Whether they do indeed work or not, they feel fantastic! Great for a "ME DAY". These can be purchased at any aesthetician's that use this brand.

Do you enjoy a great mask? What are your favourites? What ones did you not like?
Until next time
