Bedroom Makeover

So in a couple weeks I will be done with my living room remodel! I'm so excited to share it with you! However, now that it is almost complete, I must say, I've got that itch to move on to another room! Now while I had said that my downstairs bathroom, (or as we call it "Our Son's bathroom"), would be the next project, we are at a stand still, because of flooring! Our entrance way flooring runs all the way down the hall into our family room, (Or as we call it "Our Son's bachelor pad"), and into his washroom. Plus a bit goes into our laundry room as well.  So re-doing his washroom would then require us to lay all new flooring down stairs, and we just aren't ready for that yet. There is a lot of planning to do before this, like how we will remodel the laundry room etc. So... I guess that means, I have to work on the upstairs.  I really, really, want to re-do my kitchen, but because of the extent of work that I will have to do with making it over, I really need to do this in warmer weather, so we can open the windows and doors. The main stair case needs to be redone as well, but there again, I need warmer weather, so we can use our side or back door, to enter the house.  Right now with the weather, it really is not the ideal weather to use these doors, as they aren't shoveled and people would track mud all through my home.  Now that we are finishing my office, and my nail room, they are out of the question, so that only leaves the bedroom!

I know what you must be saying, "Geez Cheryl, don't you ever finish a project, before you start a new one?" Well to answer that, yes, sort of! Let me explain.... The Major parts of makeover are done, flooring, painting etc, however, furniture pieces still need to be bought. It takes me FOR.EVE.R to find the ones I like and save the money to purchase them, so while the room looks new, there still is "stuff" that needs to be purchased for that said room! Does that make sense?  When a room is totally complete, I will for sure do a blog post on the "finished product". Now back to the Master bedroom.... I have been pinning like a mad women! I have some ideas in mind for the over all look, just need to make the final decisions.  Here are some of the ideas I am thinking of...

Paint ~ I'm really hoping to go more of a bright white or one of these following ones.

or Balboa Mist by Benjamin Moore

Or White Heaven by Benjamin Moore

Notice, that White heaven is the biggest of the others... lol.... What do you think? (you know the last one is really speaking to me!) For me Benjamin Moore paints are the only paints I use. One of our local store stocks Benjamin Moore paints, thank goodness, so I don't need to go to far to grab paint samples!
If you are in my area, you can purchase Benjamin Moore Paints at Partners Paint and Paper! They have 4 stores to serve all of your paint needs! They can be found here.

Next is Trim! I love decorative trim! We have done it throughout our home and I love the idea of this..

How hard  do you think I would have to talk my husband into doing this in our room? He hated doing the last round of trim! But I personally think this look is so classic and nice, and we have a large wall in our bedroom where our bed backs up to. I think it will work perfect!

Next we are looking to upgrade our bed to King size. We currently have a queen, and since having hotel rooms with King beds in it, we have wanted to upgrade to bigger! After purchasing the bed, I am hoping for a headboard like one of these..

Next we need some side tables! I'm looking at these two! Which one is your favorite?

I think I am leaning towards the round one! But can't make up my mind...

And finally a new duvet! I haven't looked around too much at duvets, but here is the idea of the one I am looking at, so you get the jest!

Funny story, I have one similar to the one above that I got for Christmas one year, but with our dog's jumping on it, it got stained and has a little rip in it.  I decided to bleach it out one day at the local laundry mat, and without reading the instructions, I dumped the bleach right into the washing machine at the start, and now not only does it have a rip and a stain, but bleach stains on it as well.............. geez!! Yep, if you haven't guessed it already, I have NO PATIENCE!

Help me decide on some of these ideas, would you? Which ones are speaking to you? Which ones are your favorites? If you made it all the way to the end of this blog post, you have a chance to win a "thank you" from me!! A gift certificate from Partner's Paint and Paper!! ** All you have to do is make sure you are following me on Instagram and email me your name and favourite paint colour choice! You can email me at whatley_cheryl@yahoo.ca. ** Good Luck **

Until next time
