It's that time of year again to showcase the best of 2017! I have gathered a few awesome choices that include skin care, makeup, nail polish and of course home and lifestyle, as well as one fashion item. These are products that I can honestly say I used A LOT in the year 2017! Some are new products, some are old, but all are well loved by me. Let's get into it!
First up..... "Nail Polish".... I have two choices this year. I switch my polish up on the regular, but these two made it into my rotation quite frequently. Kiss The Bride by Orly and Overnight by Essie..
Orly Kiss the Bride is the Perfect shade of blush pink... I'm comparing it to Essie Fiji; however, it is a bit darker pink, but not as dark as Essie's I pink I Can. You can still purchase this awesome shade everywhere! Try it in the new Gel FX! The next one is Essie's Overnight...unfortunately this one IS discontinued and I'm sorry, but I'm posting as the odd time you do see it for sale on Ebay. I would classify this shade as an off white, in the gray/beige category. I love this shade because of it not being stark white, it really compliments my skin tone. It's not as white as Essie's Marshmallow, but darker than Essie's Baby's Breath and Allure, to give you a shade range.
Next I have a couple of lip products that I purchased on a whim and OH EM GEE .... Love... I used the crap out of them. They are Hard Candy Plumping Serum volumizing lip gloss. I picked up the shades Swan Lake and Girl Next Door. So as far as plumping goes, it doesn't have that mint harsh of a tingle like most plumpers do, and that is just fine with me. They are awesome long wearing glosses, and they smell and taste great... not that you should be eating them, but come on, let's be honest... we all have taste tested our lip stuff. Swan Lake is a blush and Girl next door is a pink, and like I said, they wear really well, and they aren't sticky.
Top swatch is Girl Next Door and bottom swatch is Swan Lake.
I have 4 face products that I used religiously in 2017. 1st is Marcelle face powder. I used this loose powder to set my foundation. I use the shade Translucent Medium. For a moisturizer, I used the Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream. I got the Normal/Combo Skin type, and I used this everyday, whether it was in the morning, evening or both. I purchased the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask earlier in the year. I love this mask; however, I am not a huge fan of peel-off masks, so that is kinda a bummer. I still have a bit left in the bottle, but after that, I probably won't repurchase it as I said, it is a peel off and I'm not fond of them. And lastly, I found the Pearlessence Charcoal Neroli facial scrub at Homesense about 3 months ago. OMG love! The smell of this scrub is AH MAZE ING!! I use this scrub at least once a week, and if I can ever find it again at one of the Winners/Marshalls/Homesense stores again, I will be sure to repurchase!
Two of my most used essential oils in my diffusers last year, were, DoTerra Balance and Peppermint. Which is saying a lot as I just purchased Peppermint in the fall! Boy I got a TON of use out of it. Also I did use the Balance as well on my diffuser bracelets on the daily. The scent, I find is just so calming. I have almost totally replaced perfume with essential oils. (Almost)
Jumping back to beauty, I discovered a new hair care line... Monat! What can I say about it?..... If you haven't tried it yet, then reach out and order it!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I love the way it smells, the way it makes my hair feel, but most of all that it is free of all the parabens and bad crap in regular shampoo. Now I will tell you, yes I was a Dove hair care junkie, and thought no other product could compare, UNTIL I tried this product out! It has the same price point as a professional brand purchased in a salon, so if price isn't so much of worry for you, definatley give it a try! I did wonder after using it for a few months, if it was worth it. I started using my Dove hair products again, and I realized after two shampoos, that I could feel the difference. Using Monat, it makes my hair feel less weighed down and more silky and shiny! HONEST! Wanna try for yourself here is a link.....https://cherylwhatley.mymonat.com/
Jumping back to home products, two of my most used Scentsy wax used this year was Ivy & Waterlily and Sweet Cream Spice. I used the Ivy & Water Lily ALL summer....it just has the cleanest freshest scent, and as soon as I could get my hands of more, they took it out of circulation...... Good thing I stocked up!! ;) Once the fall weather came, I changed my warmer to the scent Sweet Cream Spice! I only ever use 1 scent throughout my home. I like it better that way, then a couple different scents in different rooms.... but that is nice too, I just have to be very careful with smells and scents. Too much of some or mix of some scents will send me into a terrible migraine.
And last but not least, I'm throwing in a fashion item. I wore the heck out of these. They were a spontaneous purchase at Winners, and I am sooo glad that I bought them. They are by the brand xoxo and they are fuzz lined flats. I actually haven't ever wore them out of the house, I more or less use them as slippers. They are so comfortable and warm. They were an awesome price point and they actually look very classic. I would definatley wear these out and about, I just live in a climate that has snow and mud during fall, winter and spring.... so we will see them in the summer!!
Do you have any 2017 favourites? What are some items you would suggest for me to try?
Until next time
