Well here we are! Getting closer and closer to Spring!! (I hope) And you what that means??!! Spring Nails!!! Give me all the Spring Nail Polish Colours!!! One collection that I have liked for the last couple years for spring is the Essie Soda Pop Collection!! These beautiful soft colours are just what we need to bring in for Spring!!!
The Essie Soda Pop Collection is described as "serving up a taste of sweet retro style". With 4 new shades and 2 former favourites that are an homage to the youth culture of the 1950's!!! So right up my alley!!!!
Let's get into the swatches!!
First up in the collection is Pinkies Out! It is described as a coral orange and pink pearl shimmer! Very spring!
Out of the Jukebox is described as follows: is a light creamsicle orange shimmer. And that is exactly what it is! I found this very very sheer, so if that is not your cup of tea, I would highly skip it.
Pin Me Pink screams spring! Pin Me Pink is a bubble gum pink crème. Very opaque!
The next two colours in this collection is Cherry on Top and Drive-In and Dine. These are not very spring shades in my opinion, but I added an individual picture anyway.
Drive-In and Dine is described as a decadent raspberry purple cream! This photo is from Vampyvarnish.com. I think this looks more like fall then Spring! But you totally could wear it anytime!
Cherry on top is described as a candy apple red crème! I think that this looks very Holiday/Christmas Like to me, but what do I know! Once again this picture is taken from Vampyvarnish.com. Please go over and show her some love!
Because I believed the last two shades aren't exactly spring like, I have added a couple different ones that are not in the Soda Pop Collection, but are still from ESSIE! Stirring Secrets and World Is Your Oyster.
Stirring Secrets is described as a light pink/beige creme. Such a light pink, great for Easter and Spring time! Picture from Vampyvarnish.com.
World Is Your Oyster is a lilac with periwinkle shimmer. The pictures that I took have three coats on. This shade was apart of the seaglass shimmers collection. I love this shade! And of course very springish!!!
These are just a few Spring shades from my personal collection. Although the Soda Pop collection is a couple years old, the shades are still available. I chose this collection because of the light spring shades. Let me know what Spring shades are your favourite!

Today I am sporting the Magnetic Nail Polish in Spectacular Stone! I just want to make something clear, this is not one of those magnetic polishes, but is from the brand Magnetic.
This is a beautiful gem stone colour purple with very fine glitter added to it! And we all know where I stand with purple AND glitter! This is a very rich looking polish and it applies like a dream. However, it is imperative that you shake it vigorously to make sure the glitter and colour is mixed properly!
The code for this polish is 168085! You can check them out here!
I hope you check them out! This colour is life!!
Until next application
Welp..... it's March! Here's hoping spring is just around the corner! Until then, I have dug in my nail polish collection and picked a few of my favourites just in time for Spring. Let's go...
I chose these cause they are happy colours and made me think of spring. You can't think of Spring without thinking of Pink! First one I picked is Boom Boom Room by Essie! This is a bright cool toned pink and screams spring! It was from the Neon Collection in 2013 and is a bright pink, although discontinued, you can still spot it places to purchase!
If you're looking for a lighter pink, then I picked this Essie's I Pink, I can. It is a more subtle pastel pink creme! It was from the 2014 Essie Breast Cancer Awareness Collection and is still available here.
If brighter pink is more your jam, then this pink is all you. Essie's Pink Happy! This is a bright pink creme and was also from the 2014 Breast Cancer Awareness Collection! You can purchase it here
My next choice is a light blue! Again this screams Spring and Easter to me. Pick yourself up some Essie's Bikini So Teeny! This is a light blue shade with cool undertones! It was from the 2012 Summer Collection, but I think it is more Spring! You can purchase it here
Well let's just add some purple and call it a day, shall we? I have chosen Essie's Full Steam Ahead! I love this lilac shade! It has a subtle hint of shimmer as well! YES PLEASE! Although discontinued, you really need to find yourself some, or if you own it, then wear it! You'll thank me! It was from the 2013 Summer Collection and you can find it here. Grab it before it's gone!! I wear this colour ALL THE TIME!
ok OK... enough with the Essie! I can't help it, I seem to have a soft spot for them! OK changing to Orly! First up is Orly's Kiss The Bride! If you don't have it, you should! This one I wear ALL THE TIME!! ( I have favourites you know) It is a light powder pink and goes with EVERYTHING! It was from the Rich Cremes Collection and you can get it here
I know I said Spring, but I believe you can wear fluorescent in Spring as well! Which brings me to the next one, Orly's Glowstick! Now if this doesn't put you into a good mood, I don't know what will!! Try it with a white base coat to further it's glow!! It was from the Feel The Vibes Neon Collection and You can purchase it here
Sticking with the Neon's I have chosen Colour Club's Jackie OH! This is a neon bright pink, but yet almost coral, from Colour Club's Core Colours! So so good!! Look here
Looking for another Pretty Coral? Well I have you covered! This Debra Lippmann's Day Tripper! A cult favourite, you won't be disappointed! If you can find it, or stumble upon it, grab it!
Do you like a good accent nail? Or is chunky glitter your thing? Get your hands on Deborah Lippmann's Candy Shop! (If you can, it's discontinued) This will be sure to put you in the Spring Mood, with the multi coloured glitter!
I'm going to switch it up now with a Mint Green! There are TONS of mint greens out there, but I really like this Sally Hansen's Mint Sorbet! When I wear Mint green, this is one of the ones that I grab for! Click here to grab one! amzn.to/2EeTdOm!
Another really cool blue shade is this OPI's Can't Find My Czechbook. It is a great crisp blue green, and was in the Euro Centrale Collection! Get it here!
Another purple I chose was China Glaze's Plur-ple! It is an all around bright purple creme, that's not too deep purple, if ya feel me? Unfortunately, it too is discontinued, but can be found if you look around. It was from the Electric Nights Collection 2015! Keep your eye out for this baby!
I'm gonna finish off with yet one last pink! One of my all time favourites from Marc Jacobs. Pearl Jam is my jam! It is just the right shade of pink with a hint of shimmer! Get it, or be square!
I know that some of these can be tricky to find, but I wanted to show them anyway, as you can get the idea of shade and colour to choose a polish that's similar! I believe you can't go wrong with any of these shades or ones similar to these! Do you have favourite Spring Nail Colours? Do you still use Nail Polish like me?
Until next time, I will leave you with some pictures of me with my helper....

...... AND BRUIN!!
Found this goodie in my Stash! Essie's Crocadilly Snakeskin Magnetic Metallic Green! Although it's a magnetic polish, I never use it in that way, as I love the look of it as is! You can purchase it here
It is just as it is described, Green Metallic. The shade is more of a Forest Green.
An Oldie but a goodie coming at ya on this cold winter night! Essie's Bike ride!

A while back I was given the New Seche Vive Instant Gel Effect Top Coat to try out and review. I had heard of this, but had never purchased it to try out. And of course I was interested in it as you know my love for my beloved Seche Vite top coat. So basically the idea of this top coat is that it is fast drying, but also adds the plump looking effect of a gel polish to your regular nail polish. With this top coat, there is no need for a uv light, it is formulated to fuse with natural light. Well sign me up! I'm gonna test this baby out. So I chose to go with "stickey" base coat by CND and Essie's Find Me An Oasis nail polish to bring these battered nails to life. Here is my results....
So just a couple things.... These were not the "neatest" polish job I did in my life, but they will do for this post. Also these pictures were taken on my Iphone 6s. My son and my husband were my photographers for these shots, and neither of them know how to use my camera......yet ;) As you can see in this photo, Essie's Find Me An Oasis is a soft blue pastel shade.
So this is Day 1. Not showing much in this picture, but you can see the top coat is freshly painted on. Does it look any different from the regular top coat? Not much. If I didn't know any better, I felt that it just looked liked my normal Seche Vite top coat.
Day 2 lookth like this....... you can see a bit of a chip out of the middle finger, and a bit of lifting at the edges of some of the other nails.
Day 3 you can clearly see more chipping at the spots were there was lifting. So now before you ask, I am a certified Nail Technician and know how to cap the edges, so I know that was done! I do however, do a lot of dishes and house work per day, so my hands to get beat up a bunch.
Day 4 Ok first let me explain the colour. I wore a new dress on this day. Usually, I first wash a item before I wear it, but on this day, I was in a bit of a rush. It is a beautiful red and black sweater dress that I recently purchased, and it not only died my nail polish a bit, but my skin too..... Aye Yai Yai!! What a complete mess...pink everything.... keep an eye out for a coming blog post on how to remove stains!! It's coming! Now clearly you can see more chipping on my nails..
Day 5 Clearly a disaster... need to remove day. So my thoughts,...... I didn't honestly see any difference from the Seche Vite to the Seche Vive. As far as the "Gel Polish look" I honestly don't think it resembled a honest gel polish look. I'm not sure any top coat can actually resemble it truly. The consistency of a gel polish is different from an actual nail laquer. Which is why the gel polish looks a bit "pillowy" and the top coat of a gel polish is "hardened" in the uv light which does make it more durable and shiny. So if your looking for this product to mimic a gel polish manicure, it, in my opinion, does not! But I will keep using it, as it is a good "POLISH" quick drying top coat.
Until next time,
That's right..... it's that time of the year where you wear RED...... This year, we were lucky as Red is also one of the top colours to wear in fashion. Sadly, Red and Me aren't meant to be, even tho I can't wear red, I do sport that colour on my Nails!! Here are a few of my favourite shades of Red Nail polish.
The first three that I have decided to show you are: Sally Hansen Sonic Boom, Sally Hansen Racey Rouge and Deborah Lippmann It's Raining Men. As you can see in the below picture, I went from the pinkish reds to the reddest of reds. The one on my pointer finger, is one of my all time favourite reds, which is Deborah Lippmann My Old Flame.
My next choices of reds include these.. Essie's Fifth Avenue, Essie's Double Breasted Jacket, and Essie's Haute in the Heat. Now we aren't hating on my nails and my painting job are we?
Two Reds that have been in my collection for a very long time are Essie's Dress To Kilt, and Jump In My Jumpsuit....these are the epitome of Christmas Reds!! Although, very very close in shade match. And while you are at it, invest in Deborah Lippmann's Lady Is A Tramp.... You absolutely NEED these three ...
Once again ... NO HATE... I didn't do a great job at painting in between the lines, Did I?
Next is three beauties.... last but not least.... OPI's Big Apple Red, China Glaze's High Roller, and Deborah Lippmann's Just Walk Away Renee... More Reds from my collection....
These pictures show Deborah Lippmann's Lady Is A Tramp on my pointer finger, OPI next, China Glaze on my ring finger, and just because I can, I threw in that Deborah Lippmann's Just Walk Away Renee.... Cause even though It's more of a wine colour, I freakin love it for the holidays!!
What are your go to shades and colours of Reds? Which polishes do you own in your collection?
Until Next Time...
All The Best and Happy Holidays from ME......
Since I change up my nail polish on the regular, I decided to do a Top Coat Challange to see which Top Coat stood up the the test of time on my nails. I rummaged through my collection and grabbed a couple that stood out. The top coats I chose are as follows:
1) China Glaze Fast Forward top coat
2) Orly In A Snap
3) Glisten & Glo HK Girl (Indie Brand)
4) Cover Girl Boundless Colour
5) Orly Won't Chip Protective Polymer Shield
6) Seche Vite
I grabbed the closest bottle of nail polish, Essie's Boom Boom Room bright pink and painted my nails. I painted one finger with one top coat in the order above. Here are my results. This is day one.
So just a disclaimer here, these did not have a base coat on them. Also, yes they are the same nails, just taken with 2 different cameras. So as you can clearly see, the last two nails held up the most. They are the Orly Won't Chip and the Seche Vite... which as a matter of fact.... are my two of my favorite top coats.
And just because I'm me..... I decided to do another round, with yet another brand of nail polish and adding some different top coats. This time I decided to use Orly's polish in the shade Jealous Much. I also decided to use a base coat. I used Orly Bonder for my base coat.
This time I used the following top coats:
1) Sally Hansen No Chips Top Coat
2) Essie's No Chips Ahead
3) Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat
4) Seche Vite Top Coat
5) Orly In a Snap Top Coat!
And for reference.... I have shown them in a picture up above, in the order they were used! This is how they fared......
After doing this round, I tossed my Seche Vite out and replaced it with a new one. Just a note.... my Seche Vite was very very stringy...so it was ready to be tossed! I did notice A BIG difference in chipping when I USED the base coat???? But these are my clear findings.
Do you use a base coat?? What top coat is your favourite? Let me know some of your choices!!
Until Next Time
